Happy Hour...

I used to think a good time on a Friday night was happy hour at the bar, laughter with good friends and staying out till all hours of the night. Though this is still fun from time to time, I really do enjoy a different type of "happy hour." I now consider "happy hour" to be the evening time filled with Summer laughing at herself while reading a book,or the random talking that she does in her own language that she thinks we all understand, while all the meanwhile we just pretend that we do. My sweet girl is growing so rapidly and continues to amaze us at how smart she is. She is an all or nothing little girl. All happy or all sad. There really is no middle ground with this delightfully passionate little person. I love that she now can say "I WUB YOU" sing "twinkle twinkle little star" and crawls in my lap and says "row row" for row row row your boat. She counts, but really gets sticks with "two" that she says over and over. She loves shoes and thoroughly enjoys a good bath matched with a snuggly set of pj's and her own bed.

OH how I wish I could bottle this little ball of energy and freeze these moments of life to treasure forever.

Finger Painting

Here are a few pictures of Summer making finger paint creations. I think she got more paint on her nose, hair and high chair, but she enjoys painting so much that I don't mind when she creates the mess. Steven is much more the artist than I am, so hopefully she will take after him!

Poopa

So, my child will read this blog one day and KILL me for posting this. Summer is quite a talker for her young 16 months, but I don't think I have EVER laughed so hard as the day that I realized that she started saying "POOPA." She realized in the month of July that going poopy was something that every baby in her class did. She is the oldest in her class and she would even help her teachers do diaper checks on the kids. (Kind of gross, but funny too). One Friday on the way to school she said "poopa" and I realized she had gone number 2. She basically had told me she had gone to the bathroom. That weekend she told us 2 more times (and Steven was my witness).

As I was making Summer's lunch the other day, I heard her say "poopa" and I happened to have my cell phone nearby...If you listen you can hear her say it in the beginning of the video and then she looks down to look for her "poopa." Who knew bowel movements would be so entertaining!

Passy-PAAASS

Summer has quite the adoration of her Pacifier...I asked her doctor at her 15 month well check if we should take it away and he was adamant that she isn't ready. I always thought I would be the parent that wouldn't let their child have a passy...Oh well, as Katie V.'s mom says...They won't be walkind down the aisle with it. Here are some cute pics of my sweet girl with her beloved "Paaaahhhss"

She knows I am about to take the passy away!

Handing me something instead of passy!

Ahhh, the love of my passy!

TUTU

Summer had her 1 year pictures taken in her TuTu and she wasn't all to fond of it. Now when I ask her go get her TuTu she says precisely "TU TU" and goes and gets it. She loves to wear her tutu and tiara (which is really a flower as big as her head) over her clothes or she is happy to wear in just her diaper. I swear I didn't set the shot of her reading her "Twinkle Toes." She makes us read it over and over and over...Pretty cute when I tell her I am "all done" reading and she picks up where I left off. Although I was never the best ballerina, I was always a dancer and it was a huge influence in my life. My hope is that she will love to dance like her mommy...

Weekend fun

Another fun weekend playing...We hung around the house where Summer got to be a prissy redneck with her daddy and dinner with the Drawdy's. Turns out Kaley and Summer are both Daddy's girls!
Where's Summer?
Daddy, I like your hat!

First Day of B2B

Summer officially graduatued from the infant room to the B2B room. Her primary teacher Ms. McCloud transitioned up with her and she got a new teacher, Ms. Tucker. She had been out from school for the teacher planning week and was SO happy to be back. It is crazy how fast the year flew in the infant room. As you can see, they are all grown up and even eat civilized at snack time. In true mommy fashion I had to snap a few pictures to capture this day
So happy to be back!
