Holiday Cards

So, you would think that a simple Christmas card would be an easy task to under take...Well, by the time one shops for the clothes to wear in the picture, co-ordinates spouse, child and photographer, picks out said picture and card, orders card, gathers addresses, writes out cards, writes addresses, stamps cards and finally mails it, it is actually a huge ordeal. Luckily the easiest part for our family is the photography. Caroline Ferguson always captures us at our best (even when it is 34 degrees on a Sunday morning). Here are a few of the proofs. We ended up sending 5 variations of cards as I couldn't choose just one picture. Check out her website! http://www.carolinefergusonphotography.com/

Zoinks-General Dynamics Christmas Party

General Dynamics hosted a childrens Christmas party at Zoinks. Steven and I had never been, so we figured it would be nice to go check it out on GD's dime:) Needless to say, all three of us were overwhelmed. There were children running around screaming, bouncing and having a chaotic time. Summer got into it finally, but she HATED the ride that we attempted at the end.

Not sure about this

I can do it!

Do you see the fear in my eyes?

Fair Fun

So over the last year and a half Summer has implanted many memories in my brain that I will treasure forever. This being said, to date the PIG RACE memory is absolutely one of my favorites. I decided to brave the North Florida Fair with Summer and my friend Nichole. I have many memories from my childhood at the Fair. My dad took us faithfully every year. He would win us huge stuffed animals, ride the rides and eat the "fair food" with us. I am not sure if it was just the time spent with him or the actual fair that I loved, but I wanted to start the random tradition with Summer. With the amusement of people watching, fried food and pig racing what toddler wouldn't love the fair!

So we sat in the bleachers while we tasted all that the fair had to offer. Corn dogs, french fries, funnel cake and homemade lemonade. Summer loved it all. (Most likely as she is rarely ever allowed to eat anything that isn't organic and wholesome in nature). She was dancing and having a blast. THEN the bleachers filled with people of all walks of life and the pigs were released. They were playing music and everyone started to clap. Summer squealed in delight and began dancing even harder. Then it occurred to me...SHE THOUGHT THAT EVERYONE WAS CLAPPING FOR HER! She thought that everyone was cheering her on and she was dancing, clapping and getting down. It was hilarious.

OH, what it must feel like to be that loved as to think that when people clap you automatically think its for you. I hope that she never ever loses that feeling of security and love. I know I will do my best to make sure that she is well adjusted and knows how much she is treasured each and every day.

Only in Tally would pigs race:)

Halloween 2009

I am sure that when Summer grows up to be a teenager she will HATE me for dressing her up as "squigly piggly" for her 2nd Halloween. OH well, she was so freaking cute that who could resist that little piece of pork:) We had several Halloween events. It started with the 2nd annual BOO Bash hosted by Nancy and Blaine Click. Summer's school did a fall festival and had a tricycle-a-thon to earn money for the American Heart Association. Here are some pics of the Halloween activities.

Hanging around the house

Here are some pictures of us "hanging" around the house. Summer loves to play outside with Steven while they work on all of his projects. I have a feeling she is going to be a well rounded duck hunting ballerina!

Can you tell she likes daddy's truck?

Florida State Football!

One of the best parts of living back in Tallahassee is the fellowship with wonderful life long friends. Born and raised in this wonderful town, I have no choice but to be a die hard FSU football fan. I am hoping that this legacy lives on with my little Sunshine. Here are a few pictures of us tailgating for the FSU vs. Georgia Tech game. Summer did quite well as she loves "tips" (chips). Although she is quite prissy, she couldn't help but dive right into the mud. Once she realized how wet she was, she was "all done" and ready to go home.

Girl loves chips...she gets it from me!

Ummm...what happened to my toe?

30 and counting...

5 liters of margaritas!

So on Saturday September 25th, I officially entered into my "30's." I had a lovely birthday weekend celebration that began with the arrival of our best friends from Orlando Kim, Glenn and Katie. We miss them terribly since we live 4 hours away from each other. We are so blessed to have great friends that both the husband and the wife get along.
We began the Saturday celebration with watching the FSU game at La Rumba and consumed 5 LITERS of margaritas before 1pm. We went to the cupcakery and got a box filled with cupcakes and came home and took naps. We ate dinner at Kool Beanz that night after much drama of figuring out where to eat and long waiting lines. We finished the evening dancing the night away with Caroline Conway and Stacey at club Tantra.

As if that wasn't enough, I had the pleasure of having all of my wonderful friends over to our house for a BBQ. Everyone brought there babies, chilled and had a laid back Sunday afternoon. It was absolutely wonderful.
As for 30...I am totally ok with it. I am so blessed, fortunate and grateful for all of my wonderful family and friends. I have my health, a wonderful husband and an adorable baby. If 40 comes and is this blessed than I will be one lucky girl!
