Memorial Day Weekend 5/23/09

We headed to Niceville for Friday night and stayed thru Sunday. Steven's parents LOVE Summer and she loves them. It poured all weekend long, but it didn't stop us from shopping and enjoying the company. We got to see Aunt Pam, Uncle Russell and cousin Jessy too. Jessy is heading to South Africa soon so it was extra special eating a wonderful meal with her.
On Monday, Summer and Emily decided that they wanted to try out the princess pool. At first neither one of them was too sure about it. Once they got used to the temperature they loved it. After playing in the pool, the girls decided they wanted to color. Summer got into her chair ALL by herself. OMG what happened to my little itty baby! It's such a blessing that Amy and Emily get to be in Tallahassee for the summer. Meemaw loves to snuggle them both and is in grandmother heaven! Summer's favorite thing is the Barney video that mom plays for her OVER AND OVER :)

Summer's First Birthday

Summer had her first Easter and her 1st Birthday all in the same weekend. In my true Sherri fashion one had to be separated from the other, so we actually had her 1st birthday party the following weekend to make sure that everyone got to celebrate this most very important event in her life. Her birthday was super fun, as lots of our friends and family were able to come out to enjoy the beautiful day at Dorothy B. Oven. A camelia was planted in honor of the Birthday Girl. Summer did really well considering she didn't have a nap! She ate lots of yummy junk food, and ended up getting sick when we got home:(

As of one year old, Summer has yet to take interest in walking, but crab crawls everywhere and is into everything. Her favorite passtime are looking out the window and banging for Maggie and Woody pronounced MAAAGEE, ABBBAAA. She is a fanatic about food and eats more than ANYONE can imagine. Her absolute favorite is to got to Rummy's pizza and get her spaghetti. I tip well and leave a mess:)

It's so hard to believe that it has been a year since she joined our world. Gosh, it's so hard to remember what life was like without her. She is such a blessing and the comedy, drama and laughter she brings to our home is just such an AWESOME thing.

We had my childhood friend Caroline Brown Ferguson (carolinefergusonphotography.com) take pictures at Maclay Gardens...Steven joined us and was NOT to thrilled that I allowed her to fall into the pond in an effort to achieve the PERFECT shot. OH WELL, she looks pretty cute splashing.
